Instructors apply the Student-Centered Active Education model to teach, inspire, motivate, guide, and support students in their assigned courses and programs. Instructors are expected to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and lifelong learning, including participating in regular faculty and professional development activities to advance the practice of teaching and learning at SAE.

English Composition Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
? A minimum of a bachelor’s degree; if the bachelor’s degree is not in the field that the instructor is teaching in, the instructor must also hold a credential in the field at or above the level of the program they’re teaching in.
? A minimum of 4 years of industry experience since the completion of the qualifying degree
? In rare cases, an adjunct faculty member who does not hold a bachelor’s degree but has extensive and significant work experience may be granted a temporary exception by the Chief Academic and Compliance Officer, with the expectation of regular demonstrated evidence of satisfactory progress toward completion of a bachelor’s degree during the approved exception period
? A minimum of a master’s degree; if the master’s degree is not in the field
that the instructor is teaching in, the instructor must also hold a credential in
the field at or above the level of the program they’re teaching in.

Desirable Skills
English Composition Physical Requirements
Sitting for long periods. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper,
occasional lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds such as files, stacks of
paper, reference and other materials. Moving from place to place within the organization,
minimal reaching for items above and below desk level. Strength, dexterity, coordination and
vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.
